  • Important dates for First Holy Communion parents
    First Holy Communion will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 7. Parents of children receiving their First Holy Communion need to attend two important meetings.
    The first mandatory meeting for parents will be held at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday, Feb. 19 in the church. Important information about First Reconciliation will be given to you.
    The second meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12 in the church.
    Please keep in mind the First Communion retreat is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23.
  • Back to the Font reflection set for March 4
    Through our baptism we share responsibility for the Mission of the church. Jesus calls us to discipleship and to share our unique gifts with the Church. Our beloved priests cannot “do it all.” All of us are called to step up and lead others in faith. This is what it means to be On Mission for The Church Alive!
    Prepare your heart for the work of discipleship at “Back to the Font”, a Morning of Reflection. The presentation, prayer and discussion will held on Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. Choose the location nearest you: St. Alphonsus, Wexford; St. Bonaventure, Glenshaw; St. Cecilia, Rochester; St. Frances Cabrini, Center Twp., Holy Family, New Brighton; Immaculate Conception, Washington; St. James the Apostle, Pulaski; St. Katharine Drexel (Ave Maria church), Bentleyville; St. Michael, Avella; Our Lady of Joy, Holiday Park; St. Paul Seminary, Crafton; St. Pius X, Brookline; St. Rita, Munhall; St. Stephen, Hazelwood; St. Vincent de Paul, New Castle; St. Wendelin, Carbon Center.   • Golf Committee to meet Feb. 21 to plan outing, need volunteers
    Holy Rosary Golf Committee’s first reorganizational meeting for this year’s Holy Rosary Open will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the New Hall.
    The Holy Rosary Open will be held  Sunday, June 4 at Quicksilver Golf Club. Please consider attending this meeting if you would like to help with this year’s event.

     
  • Christian Mothers to meet March 13
    The Christian Mothers and Altar Society will meet Monday,March 13.  All ladies of the parish are invited to attend the meetings, which begin with the rosary at  6:40 p.m. followed by Mass at 7 p.m. Dessert will be served and upcoming plans discussed.
  • Ash Wednesday schedule and Stations of the Cross
    Lent begins on Wednesday, March 1. There will be distribution of ashes at the two Masses scheduled for that day which will be at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent, which is a time for penance, fasting and prayer. Ash Wednesday starts 46 days before Easter Sunday.
      Stations of the Cross-Please join us to walk the road to Calvary with Jesus on the Fridays of Lent at 7 p.m. This is a beautiful devotion to Our Lord. Volunteers are needed to assist Father during the Stations.During two of the Lenten Fridays, March 31 and April 7, Holy Rosary will be offering a Lenten supper of soup and a Stations of the Cross that reflects on Jesus’ Way of the Cross by praying the psalms. Please join your parish family as Lenten disciples with fellowship and prayer.

  • Feb. 22 meeting for Father's DeVille's 60th ordination anniversary
    Father DeVille’s 60th anniversary of priestly ordination will be celebrated Sunday, May 21 with a Mass at 2 p.m. at Holy Rosary followed by a buffet dinner at Bella Sera in Canonsburg.
    Many hands are needed to help the event run smoothly. The organizers are looking for people to help with set-up, greeting, parking, communications and other duties.
    A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 in the New Hall to help plan the celebration. All are welcome. Please consider volunteering. Thank you.
